Childline

About Childline

Childline was founded in 1986 by Dame Esther Rantzen as a service to help any young person in the UK. In 2006 Childline became part of the NSPCC to help even more young people.

Childline is here to help anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue they’re going through. Children can talk about anything, whether it’s something big or small, Childline’s trained counsellors are there to support and listen and on average a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds.

Childline Counsellors

In 2020/21 Childline counsellors delivered over 200,000 counselling sessions to young people. Childline counsellors are trained staff and volunteers who are there to support any young person who contacts Childline.
